Vaccines for Kittens & Cats

Contact our team to create a vaccination plan for your pet.

Vaccines are formulated to defend against a range of preventable diseases. Whether your pet spends all their time indoors or outdoors, they should be vaccinated. With your pet’s needs in mind, we’ll create a vaccination plan. If you’re interested in creating a vaccination plan for your pet, please contact us at 604-427-2744.

When should my kitten be vaccinated?

Vaccinating your kitten in their first few weeks of life helps build their immunity against preventable diseases. Vaccines contain an altered version of a virus that triggers your pet’s immune system. For healthy pets, their immune system begins to fight back, having a similar reaction if they come into contact with the disease. Starting at 6 to 8-weeks-old, your kitten should be vaccinated against the following:

  • Rabies
  • Feline panleukopenia (FPV)
  • Feline calicivirus (FCV)
  • Feline leukemia (FeLV)

Does my cat need booster vaccines?

Booster vaccines ensure your pet maintains their immunity against the preventable diseases mentioned above. Vaccination is highly effective when administered correctly and on time to healthy pets. If your pet is unwell, administering a vaccine won’t have the same immune-boosting effects. The best way to ensure your pet builds immunity is by following their vaccination schedule closely. Missing a vaccination could be the difference between contracting a fatal disease or maintaining their health. Even indoor pets should be vaccinated since coming into contact with other unvaccinated pets or wild animals can put them at risk.
